Tyson Foods linked to largest Toxic Dead Zone in USA History

What comes to mind when you think of Tyson Foods? A chicken nugget, a big red logo or the co-producer of lab-made meat alternatives @ the cost of $400-$2000 per kg.

How about the largest toxic dead zone in U.S. history? It turns out the meat industry—and corporate giants like Tyson Foods—are directly linked to this environmental catastrophe in the Gulf of Mexico, and many others.

https://i0.wp.com/sustainability.colostate.edu/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/Tasdighi-Blog-Photo2.png?w=696&ssl=1

Industrial-scale agriculture to support America’s livestock is the number one source of water pollution in the country. But while industrial agriculture to feed animals raised for meat is currently resource-intensive and ecologically destructive, it doesn’t have to be.

Solutions exist which, if adopted, would allow the meat industry and agricultural corporations that sustain it to reduce their impact on water and the planet.

That’s why Mighty Earth has launched the Clean It Up, Tyson campaign in order to hold this industry accountable to our communities and the environment.

Corporations can and should respect the health and well-being of their customers, and the landscapes that allow them to profit.

Considering America’s current political climate, and the increasing severity of environmental problems across the globe, collective action and corporate-targeted campaigns like this one have never been more urgent.

In a country with five times as many livestock animals as humans, it takes a lot of land to grow feed for the meat that ends up on consumers’ plates.

More than a third of America’s agricultural land is dedicated towards the production of corn and soy, but humans consume less than 10% of this, according to Mighty Earth’s campaign report. The vast majority is consumed by livestock.

What many people don’t realize is that this livestock feed production is controlled by a very small number of large and powerful corporations, making huge upstream profits, but creating massive downstream pollution.

These companies—ADM, Bunge, Cargill (often referred to as the ABCs)—don’t have much of a public reputation, as they don’t sell directly to individual consumers.

Under our current regulatory system, they’re also not responsible for their run-off or excess fertilizer use, both of which are classified as “non-point source” pollution.

In other words, soil erosion and run-off from enormous swaths of America’s crop fields are washing into the waterways, and taxpayers shoulder the burden.

These two factors mean that industrial agriculture companies operate with impunity while polluting the land, rivers and oceans.

https://i0.wp.com/i.pinimg.com/originals/40/58/34/4058345323b7c783660fe69ea3337008.jpg?w=696&ssl=1

A recent report by Environmental Working Group found that more than 200 million Americans—more than half of the people in our country—are exposed to contaminated drinking water due to fertilizer pollution.

The estimated clean water costs to taxpayers are more than $2 billion per year. The nitrate and phosphorous in fertilizer that leaches into our drinking water are associated with various types of cancers, birth defects and other health problems.

This burden disproportionately falls on rural communities, whose water treatment systems were not built to deal with the levels of chemicals they’re now facing.

The EPA (U.S. Environmental Protection Agency) ordered Pretty Prairie, Kansas, to build a new water treatment plant last year to lower nitrate levels that could cost $2.4 million—well over $3,000 for every person in town,” EWG reported.

Over 85% of the communities with elevated levels of nitrate have no treatment systems in place to remove the contaminant?

Another alarming characteristic of industrial agriculture is that because it’s so intensive, fields are quickly exhausted, and the industry must continuously expand to new areas.

For this reason, the American prairie and grassland ecosystems are being altered faster than the Amazon rain forest.

A recent University of Wisconsin study estimated that this loss of natural grassland “could have emitted as much carbon dioxide into the atmosphere as 34 coal-fired power plants operating for one year—the equivalent of 28 million more cars on the road,” noted Mighty Earth.

These unique landscapes are among the most threatened in the world, and are irreversibly damaged after conversion into crop fields, often to grow corn and soy.

https://i0.wp.com/cdn.unenvironment.org/s3fs-public/inline-images/5_-_Image_by_skeeze_from_Pixabay_0.jpg?w=696&ssl=1

At a time in our country when public lands are being attacked from many angles, industrial-scale agriculture to support the meat industry is the biggest challenge these ecosystems face.

Luckily, there are a number of simple, cheap and effective ways in which the meat industry could adopt sustainability measures into supply chains to and protect clean water.

For example, currently less than 30% of fertilizer applied to massive industrial-scale crop fields is actually absorbed by the plants. Instead, most of this washes off as fertilizer pollution and contaminates waterways.

This is what has caused the largest dead zone in U.S. history in the Gulf of Mexico. It is currently more than 8,000 square miles, where no marine life can survive due to toxic fertilizer pollution.

By using more precise application methods, farmers could save money on fertilizer, and less of it would contaminate the water.

Additionally, techniques like using cover crops, diversifying crops beyond corn and soy, and limiting tillage are proven ways to reduce soil erosion.

https://i0.wp.com/greenstories.co.in/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Water-Pollution1-902x420.png?resize=696%2C324&ssl=1

A few months ago, Mighty Earth conducted a comprehensive study into which areas of America are experiencing the worst water contamination from fertilizer pollution (Figure 1), and the most dramatic land conversion into livestock feed crop fields (Figure 2).

This groundbreaking research also identified the agricultural and meat industry corporations most present in these areas. The clear culprit driving these destructive agricultural impacts was identified: Tyson Foods.

The country’s largest meat company, the second largest globally and the pioneer of the industrial meat system, Tyson Foods produces one in every five pounds of meat: more than 20% of all chicken, beef and pork.

https://i0.wp.com/images.saymedia-content.com/.image/t_share/MTc1MTI4MzI2ODUwMDI5Mzgw/what-is-water-pollution.jpg?resize=696%2C392&ssl=1

They are therefore uniquely placed to drive solutions, incentivize their suppliers to farm more responsibly, and reduce the catastrophic effects that industrial-scale agriculture has on the environment and public health.

Recent commitments from a growing number of food companies like Kellogg’s, General Mills, Walmart, PepsiCo, and even Tyson’s competitor, Smithfield, are showing the way forward,” reported Mighty Earth.

These companies have committed to improve fertilizer and soil-health practices in their U.S. crop supply chains and have launched programs and practices that Tyson and other meat producers can adopt to drive improvements in their supply chains

https://i0.wp.com/image.cnbcfm.com/api/v1/image/103973402-GettyImages-94582720.jpg?resize=696%2C449&ssl=1
https://i0.wp.com/stmaaprodfwsite.blob.core.windows.net/assets/sites/1/2016/06/Combines-in-North-America.jpg?w=696&ssl=1

Tyson Foods has the power to make these changes too, and therefore to change the entire meat industry for the better—and we have the power to ask them to do it.

Tyson’s prior commitments to sustainability are admirable, but don’t go far enough. With the demand for meat rising, and the threats to our environment increasing, the stakes could not be higher.

This issue affects all of us. As far back as 2013, the majority of American waterways were contaminated by fertilizer pollution, according to the EPA.

That’s why Mighty Earth is organizing in communities across the country to ask Tyson to protect our water and our environment.

By signing the petition or making a call to Tyson’s corporate headquarters (you can use our calling script for pointers), you can add your voice to the rising chorus calling for cleaner meat.

Tyson Foods must lead the way to a more sustainable food system and protect the one planet we have.

Israel is the Organ Harvesting & Trafficking Capital of the World

Israel is the organ harvesting and human trafficking global ringleader, with complicit help from US regime, ISIS and Turkey.

Another related ongoing shameful practice that’s also increasing globally is the harvesting of human organs from war victims and selling them on the black market.

https://i0.wp.com/i2.cdn.turner.com/cnnnext/dam/assets/111101024344-hamdi-story-top.jpg?resize=696%2C391&ssl=1
https://www.jpost.com/HttpHandlers/ShowImage.ashx?id=358905&w=898&h=628

This presentation will focus on this deplorable crime being committed regularly on each of the current war-fronts and beyond, who the profiteering perpetrators are and the beneficiary nations where organs are trafficked.

https://i0.wp.com/media.wnyc.org/i/800/0/c/85/1/56107441.jpg?w=696&ssl=1

With the war in Syria still raging in its 10th year, ISIS estimates that at least 18,000 Syrians have had organs removed during the war thus far.

Since the outbreak of war in 2012, 6.5 million people have been displaced within Syria and another 4.8 million have become refugees forced to flee to open-air concentration camps in bordering countries like Jordan, Turkey and Lebanon. About 10% have migrated to Europe.

https://i0.wp.com/static01.nyt.com/images/2015/03/13/world/13Unicef-web/13Unicef-web-master1050.jpg?resize=696%2C464&ssl=1

With another 386,000 estimated dead, that’s 11.7 million humans in Syria who have violently lost their lives or homes – stunningly over half the total prewar population of 22 million Syrians.

All this tragic human horror only occurs because of an overly aggressive, imperialistic US-Israeli foreign policy creating a path of chaos and destruction across the Middle East and North Africa.

Secretly supporting Islamic recruited terroriststo fight US-Israeli proxy wars to illegally overthrow sovereign national governments like Assad’s.

https://i0.wp.com/www.sweetliberty.org/issues/israel/greater_israel_files/planned.gif?resize=679%2C432

The ruling elite behind the Greater Israel Project deploys US Empire to manufacture unlawful wars and the subsequent largest migration crisis since WW II to willfully and methodically destabilize the world generating such dire human living conditions that expedite formation of a one world government.

https://i0.wp.com/assets.rebelmouse.io/eyJhbGciOiJIUzI1NiIsInR5cCI6IkpXVCJ9.eyJpbWFnZSI6Imh0dHBzOi8vYXNzZXRzLnJibC5tcy8xODQwNjUyNi9vcmlnaW4uanBnIiwiZXhwaXJlc19hdCI6MTY0MDM0NTU5M30.s0bA8y7FQRUN2jeua-lXkMyOtA76XMj_V3HNpZMEgRo/img.jpg?resize=696%2C463&ssl=1

The all too common human story is that thousands of Syrians unable to find work trapped in inhumane conditions at migrant refugee camps in adjacent countries have opted to desperately sell their organs in order to support their families.

Parasitic Zionist criminal gangs and international cabal rings opportunistically set up thriving predatory operations exploiting the surplus of war refugees by organizing intricate organ trafficking networks throughout countries like Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq and Egypt.

https://i0.wp.com/newint.org/sites/default/files/features/2014/04/15/map-590.jpg?resize=679%2C237&ssl=1

Similar to Syrians, Palestinians in Israel have also been known to donate kidneys and other organs to feed their impoverished children. See a pattern here? However, most organs are harvested by special Zionist medical teams, cutting open captured prisoners of war.

Create extreme economic hardship purposely engineered to manipulate desperate parents trying to provide for their families, endangering themselves to give up their own body parts for sorely needed survival money.

According to Dr. Nofal, donors in Turkey can earn $10,000 for a kidney while in war torn Iraq the price may be as low as $1,000 whereas in Syria and Lebanon the going rate for selling a kidney is around $3,000.

https://marthiemombergblog.files.wordpress.com/2018/04/new-york-times.jpg?w=1200&resize=696%2C435

More than a half dozen years ago the largest Swedish daily newspaper that Israel engaged in systematic harvesting of organs belonging to Palestinians being killed by the bloodthirsty apartheid government.

Finally the Israeli Defense Forces admitted the illegal practice but insisted that organ harvesting ceased in 1999 and that family permission is now legally secured prior to any harvested organs for transplants.

Meanwhile a number of Palestinian families have registered formal complaints over the years upon observing the returned bodies of their family members conspicuously missing body parts.

https://i0.wp.com/www.indybay.org/uploads/2014/07/18/image_1_1_1_1_1.jpg?w=696&ssl=1

A pro-Israeli magazine confirmed that Israel had been routinely stealing Palestinians’ organs for Israeli citizens’ spare parts. Even the pro-Israeli New York Times has called out the Tel Aviv regime for its “disproportionate role” in organ trafficking since 2000.

Israel has tentacles reaching out worldwide, had and still have a pyramid system at work that’s awesome. They have brokers everywhere, bank accounts everywhere; they’ve got recruiters, they’ve got translators, they’ve got travel agents who set up the visas.

Israel’s leading role in the international crime syndicate that is “organized through a local business corporation in conjunction with a leading transplant surgeon, operating out of a major medical center not far from Tel Aviv.

https://i0.wp.com/africacenter.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/Trans-Sahara-trafficking-and-threat-finance-22-April-2015.png?w=696&ssl=1

Additional connections include transplant surgeons in Turkey, Russia, Moldova, Estonia, Georgia, Romania, Brazil and New York City.

With Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman originating from the poorest nation in Europe Moldova, it’s no accident that hundreds of Israelis have created a production line that starts in the villages of Moldova, where men today are walking around with one kidney.

Despite organ trafficking being a flagrant international violation of law, Israeli crime rings are still actively harvesting organs from the world’s poorest countries.

https://crickeyamigudinatura.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/68f4f-1cliaszy19qzf9op0kbdnra.png

Wealthy nations predatory feed off poor nations and corruption at the highest deep state levels ensure that the guilty parties are never brought to justice. Frequently the criminal body snatchers end up not even paying poor donors the quoted price promised.

It bears resemblance to poachers killing endangered species like African hippos and elephants for their ivory tusks or cutting off shark fins and then leaving the animals bleeding to death.

To the traffickers, internal human organs are just another precious commodity worth far more than any donor’s human life.

https://i0.wp.com/static.independent.co.uk/s3fs-public/thumbnails/image/2013/05/05/18/30-Yusuf-Sonmez-AP.jpg?resize=696%2C523&ssl=1

Returning to the Turkish-Israeli connection in organ harvesting and trafficking, probably the two most notorious gangsters involved in this despicable crime is a highly skilled Turkish surgeon named Ysef Somnez and the Israeli middleman “fixer” Moshe Harel.

Harel has ethnic Turkish ties responsible for matching donor organs with recipients and the electronic transfers of millions upon millions of dollars.

Both of these criminals were actively involved in the extensive Kosovo smuggling operations with the Turkish doctor performing thousands of surgeries on both money starved donors from Moldova, Turkey, Kosovo and Russia and wealthy recipients from Israel, the US, Canada and Germany.

https://i0.wp.com/ichef.bbci.co.uk/news/800/mcs/media/images/50451000/jpg/_50451129_50451128.jpg?w=696&ssl=1

They also have been indicted in Kosovo, Israel, Turkey as well as by Interpol and despite being international fugitives on the run for nearly a decade with both having repeatedly been arrested and then released in Israel and Istanbul, both managed to elude prosecution to remain at large.

Both Erdogan’s Turkish government and Netanyahu’s Israeli government are known to be extremely lax towards enforcing organ harvesting and trafficking laws and it’s believed that both nations with US Empire blessings have sheltered and allowed the crime duo to remain free.

Both Somnez and Harel have cashed in on the Syrian refugee bonanza cutting out Syrian kidneys, livers, hearts, lungs and corneas to make their mass killing in Turkey. After the surgery, young Syrian victims minus their vital organs are cruelly left bleeding to death.

https://crickeyamigudinatura.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/5f173-283337_173877549347269_153519798049711_392884_6542275_n.jpg

Just as Turkey and Israel have bought up the bulk of stolen black market oil from the terrorists they love, so do they profit from stealing human organs from hospitalized Syrian civilians brought to Turkey for treatment.

Turkish doctors confirmed that out of the 62,000 wounded Syrian civilians and soldiers treated in Turkish hospitals, over 15,600 of them had internal organs removed and were returned dead on arrival to Syria for burial.

The mass murderers Somnez and Harel left their infamous mark in the multi-billion dollar organ trafficking industry in Kosovo, Turkey and Tel Aviv.

https://crickeyamigudinatura.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/ac1c7-isil_helps_israel_conceal_historical_origin_5.jpg

Every major war in the last two decades from Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Libya to Ukraine has been visited by bloodthirsty body snatching ghouls out to make a grotesque profit.

The overlapping crime ring fingerprints of the same greedy body snatchers from Israel, Turkey and Kosovo keep surfacing whenever and wherever investigators begin poking around on every war front.

The barbaric crimes of a multi-billion dollar gangster business sanctioned and protected by the likes of Israel, Turkey and the United States is yet one more crime against humanity committed daily by the mass murdering cabal.

https://i0.wp.com/i.ytimg.com/vi/X7nrytulQww/hqdefault.jpg?resize=655%2C491&ssl=1

Rather than accept the evils of global slavery and organ trafficking perpetrated by power and profit driven psychopaths with total impunity.

The corrupt, criminal victimization of preying on and murdering poor humans to keep a few rich humans alive is morally reprehensible.

The perpetrators need to be held accountable while their victims need justice.

Teleportation possible in the Quantum World

Beam me up is one of the most famous catchphrases from the Star Trek series. It’s the command issued when a character wishes to teleport from a remote location back to the Star-ship Enterprise.

While human teleportation currently exists only in science fiction, teleportation is possible now in the subatomic world of quantum mechanics — albeit not in the way typically depicted on TV.

https://i0.wp.com/i.ytimg.com/vi/JKD3gnO-hH8/maxresdefault.jpg?resize=696%2C392&ssl=1

In the quantum world, teleportation involves the transportation of information, rather than the transportation of matter.

Quantum teleportation involves two distant, entangled particles in which the state of a third particle instantly teleports its state to the two entangled particles.

Last year, scientists confirmed that information could be passed between photons on computer chips even when the photons were not physically linked.

https://i0.wp.com/blogs-images.forbes.com/startswithabang/files/2016/04/teleport.gif?w=696&ssl=1

Now, according to National Science Foundation-funded research by University of Rochester and Purdue University scientists, teleportation may also be possible between electrons.

In a paper published in Nature Communications and one to appear in Physical Review X, the researchers, including Rochester physicists John Nichol and Andrew Jordan, explore new ways of creating quantum-mechanical interactions between distant electrons.

The research is an important step in improving quantum computing, the scientists say, and has the potential to revolutionize technology, medicine and science by providing faster and more efficient processors and sensors.

https://i0.wp.com/images.newscientist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/21155830/c0294543-quantum_teleportation_illustration-spl-1.jpg?resize=696%2C464&ssl=1

Quantum teleportation is a demonstration of what Albert Einstein famously called spooky action at a distance — also known as quantum entanglement.

In entanglement, one of the basic of concepts of quantum physics, the properties of one particle affect the properties of another, even when the particles are separated by a large distance.

NATO declares Wars on Citizen Journalists

After first citing the Armenian Holocaust and the Rape of Nanking to gain historical context, this article examines the recent Ukrainian arrest of citizen journalist Gonzalo Lira López and the smear campaigns against Patrick Lancaster and Graham Philips to explore the role of citizen journalists in NATO’s ongoing wars, Ukraine’s included.

In concluding by examining the matrix NATO uses to weaponize their work, the article allows readers to evaluate the charges NATO lays against the Strategic Culture website and its other citizen journalist targets in Ukraine, Yemen, Syria and domestically as well.

https://i0.wp.com/icatholic.org/images/editions/2015-05-01/armenianevents016.jpg?w=696

At the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Holocaust, of all the political leaders who gathered in Yerevan to commemorate the event, only Russia’s President Putin had a right to be there.

Because, Russia and the citizens of Syria, Iraq, Lebanon and Palestine excluded, few others did anything of substance to help the Armenians, Assyrians and Pontic Greeks against the Ottomans and their Kurdish enforcers get slaughtered.

Those genocides are historical facts and the testimony of the citizen journalists who helped expose those monstrous crimes may be researched by starting at this link from Wikipedia, which is a website I return to later when assailing NATO’s critique.

https://i0.wp.com/www.clarkeforum.org/wp-content/uploads/Arab-Euro-Poster.jpg?w=696&ssl=1

The wars of the Arab Spring have thrown up a multitude of truly repugnant citizen journalists, who NATO have encouraged to exploit gaps in the market for their own warped ends.

One such specimen is Georgetown educated Matthew van Dyke, who developed a side hustle training pro NATO mercenaries to fight in the wars of the Arab Spring he knew nothing about.

Darrell Lamont Phelps, who uses the nom de guerre Bilal Abdul Kareem, is another dubious American, who is embedded himself with Idlib’s criminals, after being evacuated from Aleppo, where he likewise had no right to be.

https://i0.wp.com/i.ytimg.com/vi/ol0aX813OEs/maxresdefault.jpg?w=696&ssl=1

Graham Phillips is an English citizen journalist earning his crust on the Russian side of the Ukrainian lines, where he got a scoop interviewing fellow Englishman Aiden Aslin, who Russian aligned forces captured in Mariupol.

Although there were elements of Phillips’ interviewing style that grated, the Daily Mail and other extremist NATO media outlets claimed Phillips had broken the Geneva Convention by asking Aslin anything beyond his name, rank and serial number.

Though it is good to see hard line NATO outlets show such compassion, it is in marked contrast to their apathy towards the torture and murder of captured Russians by Aslin’s Ukrainian employees and Syrians by Phelps’ Saudi employees before that.

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/d/d9/Gonzalo_Lira.JPG/411px-Gonzalo_Lira.JPG

That bring us to the more important case of Gonzalo Lira López, a 54-year-old Chilean-American citizen journalist who had been reporting from Kharkiv since the start of the current Ukrainian war, up to Good Friday, 15 April 2022 when he was arrested, and widely presumed to have been tortured and murdered, before being released on 22 April, 2022.

Before the Nazis hijacked his twitter account, López began his last tweet You want to learn the truth about the Zelensky regime? Google these names: Vlodymyr Struk, Denis Kireev, Mikhail & Aleksander Kononovich, Nestor Shufrych, Yan Taksyur, Dmitri Djangirov, Elena Berezhnaya.

Ukrainian Nazis and American citizen journalists allied to them wrongly claimed Gonzalo Lira was captured, tortured and executed by Sergei ‘Chili’ Velichko from the special unit Azov-affiliated Kraken unit, which are also implicated in violating the Geneva Convention by just shooting Russian prisoners after they surrendered.

https://i0.wp.com/www.moonofalabama.org/12i/ukrfumap.jpg?w=696&ssl=1

NATO’s long and ignoble history of fibbing continues in Ukraine where citizen journalists not on Team NATO’s payroll are maligned and assassinated, where fully fledged Nazi psychopaths are portrayed as heroes.

Nazi breaches of the Geneva Convention are ignored and so where the same lies regarding the Nazis’ human shields in Mariupol that were used to justify cronies in Aleppo and East Ghouta are being wheeled out to promote Nazi chums in Ukraine.

https://i0.wp.com/i.pinimg.com/736x/0f/07/93/0f0793f6d4fa4e18d15146e2fb35a656.jpg?w=696&ssl=1

NATO jailed Muhammad Ali and murdered Martin Luther King Jr. for opposing their genocide campaign in Vietnam. NATO have Julian Assange imprisoned with very dangerous Nazi and ISIS terrorists for exposing NATO murdering citizen journalists in Iraq.

Now NATO’s proxies continue to murder citizen journalists in Ukraine today. Gonzalo Lira can consider himself lucky to be alive as of the time of writing. He should evacuate Ukraine at the earliest opportunity and seek safe refuge wherever he can.

Just 100 companies responsible for 71% of Global Greenhouse Gas Emissions

The corporations that are screwing up your life, tainting your water, polluting your air, buying up your favorite coffee shop and turning it into a gas station, sucking your tax dollars up through subsidies, those corporations are the same ones creating the climate catastrophe.

In fact, The Guardian reported that just 100 companies are responsible for 71% of global greenhouse gas emissions. One hundred incredibly rich yet morally bankrupt entities, that is.

These corporations, under the disguise of providing employment include Exxon Mobil, Saudi Aramco, Shell, Chinese and Russian coal, Chevron, BP, CNPC, ConocoPhillips, Gazprom, Lukoil, Total, Petrobas and many others.

It gets even worse. The Carbon Majors Report revealed that more than half of all industrial emissions over the past 30 years were put out by just 25 corporate and state-owned entities.

Twenty-five companies are killing us, smothering us, stealing our futures while choking us (and not the fun kind of consensual choking done in the bedroom. This is the bad kind of choking that results in drought and hurricanes and your dog stuck in a tree!).

Basically, a tiny number of sociopaths make the decisions that are currently dooming us all, and as much as I’d like to tell you otherwise, those people don’t even notice if we all march outside in colorful hats.

Point is, the only protests that create change are those that interrupt the flow of business, because these corporations will not give up easily.

Too much profit rests in the balance for them to stop their prolonged execution of the human race.

The truth is, your daily troubles are connected to the same corporations that are causing the largest existential threat we fleshy apes have ever faced.

The higher-ups at those organizations control our governments, and therefore, our day-to-day lives.

Lab-Grown Meat is getting closer to be sold in Supermarkets

Slaughter-free meat is finally starting to make the jump from the lab to the factory line. For now cattle is being slaughtered to please society. In Brazil 75 million cows are being killed and dumped as waste just to keep the deforestation profits in check.

As Singapore becomes the first country to allow the sale of cultured meat, more startups around the world are preparing to test production of lab-grown meats like beef and chicken in factories.

While there’s a long way to go, it’s a crucial step in getting cell-based products ready for supermarket shelves.

Mosa Meat BV, started by cultured meat pioneer Mark Post, is among at least eight companies building or operating pilot sites.

The Dutch company, which made the world’s first cultivated beef burger, has been raising funds for those efforts and plans to upgrade small-scale output in the first half of next year, before moving to a full industrial site as early as the end of 2022.

Lab-meat startups have grown from a handful in 2016 to at least 60 now, according to consultant Lux Research Inc. The sector wants to make production more humane and environmentally sustainable and has attracted record venture-capital funding this year.

Just last week, Singapore approved Eat Just Inc. to sell cultured chicken, at a time when interest in alternative proteins is growing.

There are still lots of challenges — from cutting high costs and making large-scale production feasible to winning regulatory approval.

With cultivated meat costing $400 to $2,000 a kg to make, there’s still a long way until prices compete with conventional meats, according to Lux.

Economies of scale are likely to help lower the cost in years to come, said Harini Venkataraman, a Lux analyst in Amsterdam. That is why these pilot plants are such important milestones.

The cell-based meat market is projected to reach $140 billion in the next decade, according to forecasts compiled by Blue Horizon Corp. AG, which invests in alternative proteins.

Startups announcing test plants include Memphis Meats Inc., which has received backing from Richard Branson and Tyson Foods Inc., as well as cell-based seafood maker BlueNalu Inc. Aleph Farms Ltd., which this week hosted Anglo Zio-Nazi PM Benjamin Netanyahu to taste its beefsteak, is also working on a pilot plant.

Companies such as BioTech Foods, SuperMeat and Eat Just have already started testing sites. It’s not a question whether this is feasible, said Ido Savir, CEO of SuperMeat, which has started a test kitchen for cultured chicken in Israel.

It’s a question of how long it will take us to go from a pilot setting, where we’re at, to a commercial scale. KFC has already been processing cultivated chickens (without head and feet) to curb animal abuse.

Thailand will give away One Million Cannabis Plants

Thailand’s Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul gas announced that the national government will distribute one million free cannabis plants to households across the country in June to encourage Thais to grow marijuana at home.

The news follows the kingdom’s decision allowing its citizens to cultivate cannabis plants after notifying their local government.

https://i0.wp.com/d3atagt0rnqk7k.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/04100654/outdoor-hemp-field.jpg?w=696&ssl=1

The plant, however, can only be used for medical purposes and cannabis cannot be distributed commercially without an appropriate license. The new rule will come into force on June 9, 2022.

Thailand’s cannabis advocates have argued that allowing households such opportunities will help the predominantly agricultural nation boost its economic recovery after the Covid-19 pandemic.

People who grow commercially without first obtaining permission from the government will face a fine of up to 20,000 baht ($577.76). People who sell commercial cannabis without a license face a fine of up to 300,000 baht ($8,665.76) or three years in jail, or both.

People can showcase their cannabis and hemp-related products wisdom and sell their products nationwide, urging Thais to grow as many cannabis plants as they like.

While most of its neighbors have strict drug laws, in 2018, the Kingdom of Thailand became the first South Asian nation to legalize medical marijuana.

Since then, it has been legal in Thailand to sell cannabis products with less than 0.2 per cent THC, the psychoactive compound in marijuana. However, recreational use of the drug is still outlawed in the country.

https://i0.wp.com/highgreennews.com/sites/default/files/cannabis-hands.jpg?resize=696%2C464&ssl=1

The intention is to redefine cannabis as a household crop, and it’s the latest maneuver in Thailand’s plan to transform cannabis into a cash crop. About one-third of Thailand’s entire labor force works in agriculture, according to The World Bank.

Despite the new focus on medical applications, cannabis is well-known in the country for recreational purposes as well. Legendary Thai Sticks have been supplied on and off to the U.S. since the Vietnam War.

Only the finest Sativa’s were chosen, tied with silk to bamboo or hemp stalks, and rolled in hash oil (or opium). Reportedly it was the highest quality weed around in the 70’s. The modern equivalent might be a strong canna cigar.

https://i0.wp.com/weedseedshop.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/What-are-thai-sticks-and-how-do-you-make-them-WeedSeedShop-1.jpg?resize=696%2C367&ssl=1

According to Danny Danko in 2015, Thai Sticks fell out of favor years ago as some farmers in the lowlands of Thailand were forced to switch from the cultivation of the country’s stellar sativa for more profitable poppy plants.

Sadly, the practice of growing and creating the legendary Thai Stick is quickly becoming a lost art. Very little if any, ever leave the confines of Thailand and the traditional clandestine growers have mostly shifted over to the more profitable poppy.

I hope more vets suffering from PTSD or any other ailments that they took on during their tours of duty discover the benefits of cannabis as medicine and turn away from the hard drugs and poisons being unscrupulously peddled to them by the V.A.

Abortion is the Greatest Moral Defect of the Western World

Actor James Caviezel, who played Jesus Christ in Mel Gibson’s “Passion of the Christ,” said in a recent interview in Spain that he regards abortion as “the greatest moral defect of the western world.”

Caviezel was in the country to promote his latest movie “The Stoning of Soraya M.,” which has just been released there. He was asked by the publication Sembrar, “in your judgment, what is the greatest moral defect of the western world?”

“Abortion, without any doubt,” answered Caviezel. “As Mother Theresa said, ‘abortion will end up bringing the world to nuclear war’. When a man kills a man in a war situation, it is bad, very sad. Attila the Hun went further.

He said ‘not only am I going to kill men, but also women and children.’  He raised the bar to another level.”

However, added Caviezel, “abortion goes much further: when the mother herself kills her son, she goes against her own nature, against her own instinct.

People talk about ‘choice’, but when a woman does that, when she destroys the life of her unborn child, then we have arrived at the limit.  The level cannot go higher regarding evil.”

“In the United States, there have been 50 million abortions since 1973,” said the actor, observing that the number is equal to the total number of deaths in World War II, and “one-fifth of our population.”

“The demographic triangle is being inverted.  The base keeps shrinking, until there are not young people to maintain the population. So, what happens?  The next stage is the so-called ‘right to die,’ euthanasia,”

US Consulate to build a Deep $245 Million military command Bunker in Curacao

The U.S. Department of State proudly announced the construction of a new U.S. Consulate building @ the cocaine trafficking hub of the Dutch Caribbean colony in Curaçao.

The design is said to be glorifying the local culture and the historic Caribbean architectural context of Curaçao, while enhancing view sheds from the adjacent UNESCO World Heritage zone and honoring the adjusted local planning and development priorities.

4th of July 2017

This new Consulate will ensure the U.S. platform for diplomacy on Curaçao is positioned to support and be a symbol of cooperation, friendship, and progress for many years to come.

The first U.S. Consulate in Curaçao opened in 1793, laying the foundation of what would become a centuries-old partnership. American vice consuls were officially recognized by the Netherlands after the Consular Convention of 1855 went into effect.

The design of the new Consulate will include photovoltaic panels, sun control and shading devices. These features will contribute to achieving a goal of LEED Silver certification from the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED® Green Building Program.

The US Drug War @ Curacao is hosted by DEA agents crawling around on the island along the coast of Venezuela framing opposition groups into the abyss?

On September 24, 2009 the Vice Council of the US Consulate General Curacao James Edward Hogan left his home on foot late at night for one of his regular walks.

His wife reported him missing the next morning. Search for Hogan, initially conducted by the US Consulate staff and intelligence agents, began without much publicity. The authorities were notified only when Hogan’s clothes covered with blood were found @ Caracasbaai.

Chances are slim that James Edward Hogan is alive. One of his operative contacts unexpectedly called him the night he went missing, and his mobile phone was found later in the water near the place where he supposedly had been killed.

It is possible that, as it had happened before on Curacao, the assassination was an act of revenge perpetrated by the members of the cartel who had evaded arrest.

Tens of FBI, CIA, and DEA operatives continue to investigate Hogan’s disappearance. Whatever happens, the struggle over dominance over the drug markets will go on.

The local media floated various stories including Hogan’s leaving his wife for another woman, imitating his own death to let his wife get the life insurance payment, or being killed as an act of revenge by the drug mafia with which he allegedly had ties.

The media discovered that Hogan had worked for the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and had served as a trade representative in Africa after receiving additional training. It appeared that – as an operative – he indeed dealt with drug-trafficking groups.

Journalists invoked a recent raid against a drug cartel which supplied cocaine from Colombia to the USA, Middle East, Holland, Belgium, and Denmark. The major operation had been carried out last April by DEA in Curacao and Aruba with the help of the local police.

https://i0.wp.com/curacaochronicle.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/US_Elections2.jpg?resize=696%2C465

The 17 people arrested in the case were Colombians, Surinamese, Curacao and Aruba natives, Venezuelans, and Cubans.

As usual, DEA supplied no details concerning the Venezuelan and Cuban members of the group, thus creating a pretext for a media campaign charging Havana and Caracas with involvement in drug trafficking.

Moreover, 4 individuals from Lebanon had also been arrested during the raid, which made it possible for the media to pick up the version that Hezbollah terrorists were getting drugs from their Venezuelan partners.

DEA has tried for a decade but failed to discover any links between Venezuela and Hezbollah’s drug groups, but no doubt new propaganda campaigns targeting Venezuela are in the making.

Motorboats carrying drugs from South America to the Caribbean Islands are a reality, but the truth is that they are registered in Colombia.

DEA is known to green light the drug trafficking under its own control while suppressing the competition in the business highly profitable for the USA (and DEA), which is posed by “unaffiliated” players.

US agencies treat Curacao, Aruba, and Bonaire as their own backyard. For DEA, Hollywood-style episodes with bad cops putting drugs into the pockets of innocent people, etc. are routine practice.

Not surprisingly, some Latin American countries are deporting DEA operatives and refusing to cooperate with the US agency.

The US SOUTHCOM maintains the so-called Forward Operating Locations (FOL’s) on Curacao and Aruba. They are equipped with advanced air and naval surveillance facilities and the electronic equipment capable of intercepting all types of communications.

As a result, the islands are closely watched and the existence of “Independent” criminal groups on them is almost impossible. The new Consulate could serve as the headquarters for all US operations against Venezuela?

Seaports, airfields, banking, the real estate sector, administration, and diplomatic missions on Curacao and Aruba are defenseless against the US monitoring and heavily infiltrated by Washington’s agents.

While DEA is saying that Venezuela and Ecuador are among the leading drug producers, Latin America’s number one drug factory supplying plastic-packaged narcotics to all parts of the world is Colombia.

The country’s extensive drug network employs its own financial centers, carefully maintained routes, corrupt officers at customs checkpoints and in police forces, etc.

This activity would have been impossible without the help of DEA, the secret agency with its own logistics and system of analysis.

Videos showing thousands of confiscated packages containing cocaine are regularly featured on Venezuelan TV channels. The country’s law enforcement agencies became a lot more efficient since the expulsion of DEA.

The U.S. Air Force deployed four aircraft and crews to Curaçao to support enhanced counter-narcotics operations with international partners targeting illicit traffickers in the Caribbean.

Two patrol aircraft, an E-3 Sentry (AWACS) and E-8 Joint STARS (JSTARS), supported by two KC-135 Strato-tanker aerial refueling aircraft, will fly detection and monitoring missions in international airspace.

Approximately 200 airmen, including aircrews, maintenance technicians, logistical and administrative personnel will support the operation. The new underground US Consulate is meant to support the US logistics, while monitoring the much beloved opposition.

Western companies investing in Fossil Fuel projects in Africa

Out of the 23 top investors in African oil and gas projects, 14 are headquartered in the USA, six in Europe, one in Canada, one in India, and one in South Africa.

The information was reported on the sidelines of COP27, by a group of African climate-focused NGO’s, such as Urgewald, Stop EACOP, Oilwatch Africa and Africa Coal Network.

https://i0.wp.com/cpb-us-w2.wpmucdn.com/sites.gsu.edu/dist/3/2721/files/2016/04/world-commodities-map-africa_536becb7083f7_w670-2ajbae1.jpg?w=696&ssl=1

The 2022 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27) was deemed the African COP, as one of the central topics of the summit were the designed problems of the mineral rich continent.

Africa is among the smallest contributors to greenhouse gas emissions but is facing severe effects of climate change, while western corporations are the biggest fossil fuel investors, confiscating all the minerals, oil and gas reserves.

On the list of top institutional investors in fossil fuel expansion in Africa, first place is taken by the American investment company BlackRock (holdings of over $12 billion).

https://crickeyamigudinatura.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/a623b-vanguard_logo.jpg

Vanguard and the Norwegian Government Pension Fund are shipping the profits away as the second and the third biggest investors with $8.4 billion and $3.7 billion, respectively.

Over the last three years, commercial banks have channeled more than $98 billion to new hydrocarbon projects in Africa, despite pledges by Western governments and corporations to curb the use of fossil fuels in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions?

The number one banker of fossil fuel developers in Africa is Citigroup ($5.6 billion), followed by JPMorgan Chase ($5.1 billion) and BNP Paribas ($4.6 billion).

https://i0.wp.com/www.daysoftheyear.com/wp-content/uploads/united-nations-day1.jpg?w=696&ssl=1

Around 71% of the financing of fossil fuel expansion projects in Africa comes from institutions that are members of the so-called Net Zero Banking Alliance, organized by the United Nations.

The group brings together banks committed to aligning their investments and lending with net-zero emissions by 2025.

Every dollar spent on new oil and gas exploration goes against the 1.5°C roadmaps laid out by the International Energy Agency in 2021.

https://i0.wp.com/unisonenergy.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/Image-2.png.png?resize=696%2C406&ssl=1

Making net-zero promises for tomorrow is meaningless if you are spending billions of dollars on fossil fuel expansion today. Financial institutions that claim to be lining up for 1.5°C need to stop supporting their investment targets which could drive the world towards 2.8°C.

French oil company TotalEnergies is the largest developer of new hydrocarbon projects on the continent, which is the source of 25% of the company’s fossil fuel production. Algerian state-owned company Sonatrach takes second place, with Eni of Italy coming in third.

In Egypt, which hosted the climate conference, 55 companies are currently prospecting for new oil and gas fields, while Israel is leading the flock along the Mediterranean Sea shores.

https://i1.wp.com/www.currentschoolnews.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/oil-companies.jpg?w=1920&ssl=1

All in all, oil and gas companies are preparing to add at least 15.8 billion barrels of oil equivalent to their production portfolios in Africa before 2030. So big corporations block invaded countries to sell their own assets, while charging civilization extra for energy.

The extraction and combustion of these oil and gas resources are supposed to release eight gigatonnes of CO2eq into the atmosphere – more than twice the amount the EU emits each year.

African leaders have repeatedly accused Western countries of hypocrisy in terms of the climate change mitigation process, pointing out that these states oppose African fossil fuel projects, pointing to the green agenda, unless the projects are beneficial for the West itself.

https://i0.wp.com/travelb.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Africa-Serengeti.jpeg?w=696&ssl=1

Many African activists call for the urgent winding down of fossil fuels in order to lower greenhouse gas emissions, noting that no new measures concerning this issue, which is central to the climate process, were introduced at COP27.

Smart people argue that African countries, which are responsible for just two or three percent of the emissions, should not sacrifice their development goals to fight a climate crisis they didn’t create.

The development of the continent is more beneficial in a judicious combination of both fossil fuels and renewable energy sources.

Space Telescope’s stunning mosaic of Orion Nebula uncovers rogue Planets

The James Webb Space Telescope has captured two stunning wide-field mosaics of the grandiose Orion Nebula, a large region of star formation that’s one of the closest stellar nurseries to the solar system. It sits just 1,344 light-years away.

The huge mosaics, made of over 3,000 individual images, have also been added to the European Space Agency’s ESASky app, which is an interactive all-sky map.

https://i0.wp.com/www.yaabot.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/yaabot_how_far_james_webb.jpg?w=1180&ssl=1

This sky map with a user-friendly interface enables members of the public to view amazing images of the Universe taken by the likes of the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) and the Hubble Space Telescope.

The Orion Nebula is rife with budding stars located inside its billowing clouds of molecular gas. Some 2,800 young stars are known to exist inside the nebula, with many more stellar embryos cocooned within the area’s dense veil of gas and dust.

And the JWST’s Near Infrared Camera, known as NIRCam for short, is able to peer through much of this gas and dust — doing so has revealed proto-stellar disks, outflows from burgeoning stars, and even free-floating planets.

https://i0.wp.com/www.lecosmographe.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/etoiles-de-la-constellation-dOrion-696x557.jpg?resize=696%2C557&ssl=1

On a winter’s night, the nebula is visible to the unaided eye as a fuzzy object just below the three stars that make up the Belt of the Orion constellation.

The nebula is illuminated by the Trapezium Cluster, which is a grouping of young stars so-named after the pattern of their four most prominent members.

Each star in this quartet is massive, with between 15 and 30 times the mass of our Sun. Their short lives, spanning just a few millions of years rather than billions, will end in supernova explosions.

https://i0.wp.com/cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/riviGiR4ZTcfkJ8uQnjfvF.jpg?resize=696%2C489&ssl=1

Up to a thousand fainter stars lurk in the Trapezium Cluster as well, some with evaporating circum-stellar disks — these are disks of gas and dust that sprouted planets.

Now, residual gas from such planet formation is being blown away by the newly awoken stars’ stellar winds.

Not all of the planets born in the Trapezium have parent stars, however; the JWST has detected about 40 pairs of free-floating gas-giant planets, or Jupiter Mass Binary Objects (JuMBO’s).

https://i0.wp.com/i1.ytimg.com/vi/adi4ADVlUvg/maxresdefault.jpg?resize=696%2C392

Free-floating planets have been found in the Orion Nebula before, but the JuMBO’s are surprising because they seem to come as couples.

The question  astronomers are still unable to answer is, did the JuMBO’s (and other free-floating planets) form directly out of the gas of the Orion Nebula as failed stars, or were they snatched from a planetary system, perhaps by the gravity of a close-passing star that wrenched them from their orbits?

The new mosaics are split between longer and shorter wavelengths.

https://i0.wp.com/i.pinimg.com/736x/3f/02/dd/3f02dd4ebb8e79b1b68438cd218bd3a3--james-webb-space-telescope-the-james.jpg?w=696&ssl=1

NIRCam’s short wavelength channel, which covers an infrared waveband between 0.6 and 2.3 microns, is closest to the visible red end of the spectrum and achieves the greatest angular resolution the JWST can accomplish.

The short-wavelength mosaic shows all the fine details of the nebula’s star-forming activity.

Meanwhile, NIRCam’s longer wavelength channel, covering 2.4 to 5.0 microns, has recorded the network of dust and organic compound filaments, known as polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, that abound in the Orion Nebula.

https://i0.wp.com/images.zapnito.com/users/85439/posters/ac595efc2fcd4674f6010690f0a7022c/1e69c4a3-99d4-4298-9f82-a80bdf33f98c_large.jpg?resize=696%2C463&ssl=1

PAH’s are carbon-based molecules that make up a good proportion of dust found everywhere in the universe, and observations such as those of the Orion Nebula are teaching astronomers how these ubiquitous molecules form.

Given how interstellar dust is recycled into the next generation of stars, PAH abundance has a role to play that the infrared vision of the JWST can reveal.

https://i0.wp.com/cosmicpursuits.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Stargazers-at-Work-03-19-2018-1.jpg?w=696&ssl=1

In particular, the JWST’s greater spectral resolution can reveal PAH’s on smaller spatial scales than ever before, helping to determine how they accumulate depending upon their molecular size, shape and electric charge.

The Orion Nebula is one of those rare objects that is accessible for inspection by everyone, from stargazers with the most basic observing kit to the most advanced space telescopes.

As Orion rises this winter, what can you see in the greatest nebula in the sky?

Yemen home to the World’s worst Humanitarian Crisis

Today, Yemen is primarily known as as home to the world’s worst humanitarian crisis having suffered the loss of almost 400,000 people since the beginning of the nation’s latest war in 2015.

However, in the spheres of global trade and big business, it represents a geographical location that can be exploited for international shipping and its largely untouched oil and gas reserves.

https://crickeyamigudinatura.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/8e862-yemen2b502b152bharaz.jpg

The leadership in Yemen has always been of great importance, especially in the period of the Cold War, during which Western imperialist nations and their reactionary allies on the Arabian Peninsula feared the prospect of any peoples becoming allies with the Soviet Union.

Yemen, meaning ‘south Arabia’ in Arabic, has historically been a geographically and culturally perspicuous territory. The uppermost region of Yemen, formerly controlled by the Ottoman Empire, gained its official independence in 1918, calling itself the Mutawakkilite Kingdom of Yemen.

The kingdom, which was known retrospectively as North Yemen, was controlled by a monarch, Imam Yahya Mohammed, who hailed from the Zaydi-Shia Islamic sect.

https://i0.wp.com/www.israel21c.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/yemen-street.jpg?w=696&ssl=1

Meanwhile, the south and east of Yemen lay under the control of the British Empire. Declared the ‘Aden Colony’ in 1937, the southernmost territory in Yemen was developed around the key port city of Aden, strategically located where the Red Sea meets the Arabian Sea.

Aden was first conquered by the British East India Company in 1839 and they ruled their colony with an iron fist.

The North Yemeni revolution erupted on September 26, 1962, when a commander of Yemen’s Royal Guard, Abdullah al-Sallal, led a number of Egyptian and Iraqi-trained officers in a popular coup d’etat to overthrow Yemen’s monarchical leadership.

https://crickeyamigudinatura.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/13314-x15-10-16-102413696.jpg.pagespeed.ic_.ogd7ge-in1.jpg

Al-Sallal was inspired by Egyptian President Gamal Abdel Nasser, who was the leading voice for Arab nationalism at the time. Al-Sallal’s army of revolutionary republicans deposed the newly crowned ruler, Mohammed al-Badr, quickly seizing Yemen’s capital city, Sanaa, declaring the newly formed Yemen Arab Republic (YAR).

At the time of the revolution in the north, the British governing the colony of Aden began to fear what this could mean for their then-top-secret plan to create the ‘Federation of South Arabia’, which they would later form in 1963.

The British also feared the security threat such a revolution could pose to its allied regimes in the Persian Gulf, like Bahrain and Oman, where they sought after oil and the stability of the autocratic leaderships they had helped to place in power.

https://i0.wp.com/www.nam.ac.uk/sites/default/files/2017-10/aden-emergency-map_full_1.jpg?w=696&ssl=1

The British could not allow an ally of Nasser, who was aligned with the Soviet Union, to become prosperous and spread the ideology of Arab nationalism even further on the Arabian Peninsula.

Following the assassination of the Crown Prince of North Yemen, Imam Yahya Mohammed, in 1948, came the consequential era of his son, Imam Ahmed bin Yahya. Imam Ahmed, as he is often referred to, aspired to rule over a ‘Greater Yemen’, and his forces clashed on several occasions with the British to the south.

In March 1955, Imam Ahmad survived a coup attempt and faced mounting pressure against his autocratic rule. He eventually decided in 1958 to join what became the United Arab States, a confederation with what is now Egypt and Syria, known at the time as the United Arab Republic (UAR).

https://i0.wp.com/i.pinimg.com/originals/c3/f8/99/c3f899828076e03d21f4237e3d5c1de1.jpg?w=696&ssl=1

The UAR, which had unified Syria and Egypt, quickly crumbled, and by 1961, Yemen had officially withdrawn from the confederation.

It has been argued that the confederation’s breakup was a significant factor in paving the way for the 1962 civil war, as it then gave way to al-Sallal’s republicanism, which would become popular in North Yemen.

The former King of Yemen, Imam Mohammed al-Badr, did not decide to cede power to his republican opponents without a fight – fleeing to Saudi Arabia and from there rallying an army of royalists that were equipped and supplied by Riyadh.

https://alistairreignblog.files.wordpress.com/2016/03/yemen_1962_1967.png?w=620&resize=696%2C572

Although the USA did end up supplying anti-air weapons to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) in its fight against the republicans in Yemen, it fell short of playing the role, on the side of the KSA, that it does in today’s conflict against the Ansarallah government, which took over Sanaa in 2015.

Instead, it was the British that played the most prominent role of any Western country, on the side of the Saudi-backed royalists. MI6, the British SAS special forces, and mercenaries were all used to fight the Arab-nationalist republican forces, led by al-Sallal, in Yemen.

Israel and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan also played a prominent role in providing weapons, intelligence, and logistical support to the Saudi-backed royalists.

https://i0.wp.com/www.researchgate.net/profile/Hadeel-Al-Maaitah/publication/320625341/figure/fig1/AS:553819155202048@1509052184677/Political-map-of-the-Hashemite-Kingdom-of-Jordan-Source-Encyclopaedia-Britannica.png?resize=696%2C576&ssl=1
https://i0.wp.com/images.memphistours.com/large/891914912_3792866862_01e378969f_b.jpg?w=696&ssl=1
https://i0.wp.com/www.fpri.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/camels-1280x853.jpeg?resize=696%2C464&ssl=1
https://i0.wp.com/www.aito.com/images/holidays/322873/jordan---the-hashemite-kingdom-s3.jpg?resize=696%2C465&ssl=1

One of the primary reasons for the Saudi-led coalition’s backing of the royalists in the conflict was the direct involvement of Egypt on the side of the newly established Yemen Arab Republic.

The USSR was the first nation to formally recognize the YAR, and Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev even wrote to the Yemeni Republican leader, al-Sallal, stating that any act of aggression against Yemen will be considered an act of aggression against the Soviet Union.

Nasser sought to challenge Saudi Arabia, encourage the spread of Arab nationalism, and drive the British out of Yemen in order to bring the Red Sea under Arab sovereignty.

https://i0.wp.com/www.topzanzibar.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/10.jpg?resize=696%2C464&ssl=1

Between 1962 and 1970, at least 200,000 people had been killed in a conflict which eventually led to the inevitable; the Yemen Arab Republic was recognized as a sovereign nation and the royalists, who lacked popular support, were defeated.

However, while the republicans had won the war, in the process, so too had Arab nationalism died amid the fighting in Yemen.

It is often suggested that the downfall of Arab nationalism stemmed from the shocking defeat of Nasser’s Egypt during the June 1967 war, when Israel launched its offensive known as ‘Operation Focus’ and went on to defeat its Arab neighbors in only six days.

https://i0.wp.com/sillysoft.net/vox/plugins/images/6%20Day%20War.jpg?resize=696%2C404&ssl=1

However, without Egypt’s over-commitment to the war in Yemen, which had reached a deadly stalemate during the mid-1960’s, Tel Aviv may not have possessed the confidence to have launched the Six-Day War, or at the very least Egypt would have been more prepared for the confrontation.

The war in Yemen cost the Egyptians so dearly that it is often referred to as ‘Egypt’s Vietnam,’ a war in which Nasser’s army was so heavily bogged down that his home turf ended up occupied by Israel.

The Yemen we see today is a nation that was under the thumb of an autocratic ruler, Ali Abdullah Saleh, for 33 years, a country that’s direction was left in the hands of Western powers following the Cold War. On the results of 1962-1970 conflict.

NATO bombed Yugoslavia to change the course of European history

Understanding the present-day events in Ukraine is impossible unless you study what happened in 1999 with Serbia. But the hostile attacks intended to crown the US imperial project ended up losing Russia instead

There is a Hegelian thread that runs directly from NATO’s ostensible humanitarian intervention to the Russian special military operation, linking Belgrade to Belgorod – and everything in-between.

https://i0.wp.com/docs.rferl.org/Infographics/2019/2019_03/2019_03_NATO_Balkan/assets/images/before-after/8-b.jpg?resize=696%2C507&ssl=1

When the first NATO jets dropped their bombs on the capital of then-Yugoslavia, on March 24, 1999, it was supposed to be the crowning achievement of a project described at the time as benevolent global hegemony.

More commonly known today as the rules-based international order, it would be uni-polar; the USA would make all the rules and the rest of the globe would fall into two camps: allies and future targets.

The USA, with the NATO military as its enforcement arm, had already managed to sideline the UN during the first half of the decade.

RT

UN peacekeepers were simply shoved aside during a US-backed Croatian onslaught against Serbs, followed by the NATO bombing of Serbs in Bosnia and a peace agreement negotiated in the shadow of US bombers at an airbase near Dayton, Ohio.

By February 1998, Secretary of State Madeleine Albright was describing the US as the indispensable nation, willing and able to use force to sacrifice for freedom, democracy and the American way of life.

Little wonder, then, that Albright was one of the main drivers of the 1999 NATO assault on Yugoslavia, with champions and critics alike dubbing it Madeleine’s War.

The official narrative declares that the USA and its allies were concerned about the human rights of ethnic Albanians in Kosovo, a province of Serbia and part of what was then the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.

Serbia was battling an armed insurgency by militant terrorists calling themselves the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), and the US threatened Belgrade with bombing unless it stood down.

Yugoslavia agreed, and an OSCE verification mission was sent to monitor the situation. The KLA used the truce to regroup and rearm, however. Then, in January 1999, KLA militants clashed with police in the village of Racak.

OSCE mission chief William Walker, a US official, quickly declared it a massacre of innocent civilians. Helena Ranta, the Finnish head forensic pathologist who examined the bodies, later disagreed – but by then it was too late.

Racak was then used to set up an ultimatum. Albright summoned the delegations of Yugoslavia and the KLA to the French chateau of Rambouillet, where she presented Belgrade with an ultimatum.

Let NATO troops occupy Kosovo as peacekeepers and agree to have Albanians hold an independence referendum within three years – or get bombed. Furthermore, Annex B gave NATO free passage through the rest of Yugoslavia.

Serbians saw it as an ultimatum on par with what Austria-Hungary demanded in June 1914. This was no accident.

The US regime intentionally set the bar too high for the Serbs to comply since they needed a little bombing to see reason, one unnamed official later reportedly said. Just like in 1914, Belgrade said no. Just like Vienna in 1914, NATO attacked.

The initial objective of the bombing was to impose the Rambouillet terms. Convinced of its total superiority, based on the first Gulf War experience and the fact that Yugoslavia had been under sanctions for almost a decade, NATO expected the proverbial short, victorious war that would last two weeks or so. It would drag on for 78 days instead.

By day three, Yugoslav air defenses had shot down a F-117 Nighthawk stealth fighter, using a 1960’s-era S-125 (SA-3) missile.

Another F-117 was heavily damaged later, but managed to return to base; that incident remains classified. David Goldfein, who later served as chief of staff of the US Air Force, also saw his F-16 shot down over Serbia on May 2, 1999.

B-52 strategic bombers were used to carpet-bomb the border post of Kosare, which sat on the key route from Albania into Kosovo. Surviving Yugoslav soldiers say the strike ended up hitting the KLA instead. Kosare never fell.

NATO’s actions violated the UN Charter (Article 2, Article 53, and Article 103), but also the bloc’s own rules (Article 1, Article 7), the Helsinki Final Act of 1975, and the 1980 Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties.

The USA and its evil allies knew this too, they set up an independent commission led by the prosecutor of their Yugoslavia war crimes tribunal to whitewash it as illegal but legitimate.

US President Bill Clinton and British PM Tony Blair cited a newly created doctrine of responsibility to protect (R2P) as their justification, accusing Belgrade of ethnic cleansing and even genocide of Albanians.

During the bombing, NATO officials speculated that over 100,000 Albanians had been killed. When investigators found fewer than 3,000 bodies, however, the official narrative settled on an arbitrary estimate of 10,000.

Germany even claimed the existence of a secret Serbian plan to deport a million Albanians, calling it Operation Horseshoe, yet no evidence of its existence was ever presented.

In his 2000 memoir, retired German General Heinz Loquai suggested that it was the product of Berlin embellishing speculation coming from Bulgarian intelligence.

While the bombing failed to overthrow the government in Belgrade, Milosevic was eventually ousted in what would become known as a color revolution, in October 2000.

Yugoslavia was then gradually erased with Western backing, finally vanishing in 2006 with the secession of Montenegro. To this day, the US embassy in Serbia is in the habit of publicly dictating what kind of government in Belgrade it wishes to see.

Milosevic, who was extradited to The Hague in 2001 and died under what his sympathizers viewed as mysterious circumstances in 2006.

When NATO followed this up by expanding to Eastern Europe and former Soviet republics – starting in 1999 – things only got worse. The current conflict over Ukraine is the endpoint of that choice. But there is another factor.

On August 9, 1999 – two months after the armistice that ended the war on Yugoslavia – Yeltsin appointed Vladimir Putin the new acting prime minister of Russia.

On December 31, the ailing president would offer the Russian people an apology – and his resignation. The rest, as they say, is history.
